Magnetic Seizure Therapy (Wiki)
Often seen as an improvement on ECT, MST stimulates the brain, inducing seizures, by using rapidly alternating strong magnetic fields. The treatment appears to present fewer side effects and a favoured recovery process over ECT; however, patients still must under go anesthesia, just as in ECT. The treatment is undergoing trials.
